Death Toll Reaches 114,000
Is the Bush Administration behind it?
The death toll has rocketed to 114,000. Indonesia has just discovered 28,000 bodies in Sumatra. This is a natural disaster of catastrophic proportions. I imagine that the death toll will be in excess of 200,000 by this time next week.
As I mentioned before this appears to be a natural disaster, however the conspiracy portion of my brain wonders if this natural disaster wasn't so natural.
Here's an interesting scenario to nibble on:
The Bush junta is tired of explaining itself to the media. Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney and Rice are sick of the liberals in this country pointing out how many American lives are being lost in Iraq...

...Bush and his cronies devise a cunning and dastardly plan. In order to take people's minds off of Iraq why not create a natural disaster? We've done underwater nuclear weapons tests before (see Bikini Atoll) and they have a significant seismic effect. Is it then possible that the Bush regime detonated a large nuclear device on the ocean floor off the coast of Indonesia? After all, a natural disaster of these proportions certainly takes your mind off Iraq...
With Bush and his cronies calling the shots anything is possible...

(3) we have the technology to create tsunamis.
To create a seismic disturbance of this magnitude all you need is an powerful energy source placed between the tectonic plates.
To add more credence to the conspiracy theory...there are no tsunami beacons in the Indian Ocean. The lack of beacons makes it the perfect place to get away with testing a seismic nuclear device or an electromagnetic device such as HAARP*. HAARP, from what is known about it, would not seem like the most suitable device to create a seismic disturbance. HAARP was created to disturb global communications via an electromagnetic pulse. It was also part of the SDI. HAARP can easily disrupt weather patterns so you definitely don’t want a HAARP tower in your backyard.

How so? Where do you get your figures to back up this argument? Further, what about the "Radioactive Yeild" from such a device? Where are all the dead fish? Yes, there would be tons and tons of dead fish from both the blast and radioactive yeild!

You see, whenever there is an underwater explosion, lots and lots of fish die dur to concusion. Many unscrupulous fihermen in Asia still use dynamite to catch fish.
When I was stationed at Subic NS in Subic Bay Philippines, EOD would dispose of old Korean, WWII vintage ammo and explosives, in a deep trench, underwater. The reulting explosion left dead fish floating all over the place...

You haven't seen thousands of photographs of dead fish because the photographers there are focusing on more important issues like the human death toll and the general devastation. Nuclear or not, plenty of fish died. If it was in fact a nuclear detonation then the fish near the site would've been vaporized.
There have been reports of fish prices tripling since the tsunami. This may mean there are less fish in the region (when demand stays constant but the supply dwindles, prices go up).
If indeed there was a nuclear blast, yes some fish in the close vicinity would be vaporized, but more important, the concusion from the blast wave would kill a lot more!
Dead fish would be washed up on the beach, like the rest of the bodies! I have lived in Asia long enough to speak with some degree of authority on the subject as I have seen disaster after disaster in this region.
Then we have the lack of radiation. How can you explain this? Further, what makes you think a 25 megaton device would be sufficient to cause a 9.0 earthquake?
The tsunamis were a result of a submarine earthquake plain and simple. To say otherwise is really reaching...
...Almost forgot, the reason fish prices are/have gone up is there aren't that many fishermen left to go out and catch any. Nothing strange there. Here in the Philippines, the price of fish has gone down as nobody wants to eat fish that might have fed off of a dead body.
I agree that there are fewer fishing boats and the demand for fish has gone down (I probably read the same article as you) but I disagree with you on the topic of radiation levels.
First there have been no reports to state whether there has been an increase/decrease in radiation levels in the Indian Ocean. These are poor countries and they don't have the resources to accuraetly measure the rad levels.
Second, it is possible to limit the amount of ambient radiation after a nuclear detonation if that detonation occurs several miles beneath the ocean surface particularly if it is placed in a deep trench where the tectonic plates meet. For example, the U.S. government has, in the past, considered dumping depleted uranium, plutonium, surplus warheads and other radioactive waste in regions of the Indian and Pacific oceans. The Marianas trench although deep would not be a suitable location for such waste. However there are regions out there and there is one off the southern coast of Japan where the plates overlap. The importance of this location is that you can drop off properly-contained barrels of radioactive cargo into this trench and it literally gets swallowed up by the Earth's crust. A detonation in this area (or one like it) on the fault line could cause an earthquake and the resulting tsunami and yet show no significant increase in radiation levels and dead fish.
This is gross but feasible:
If the fish manage to snack on the brains and spinal cords of decaying tsunami victims and then we eat the fish, then we will will ingest trace amounts of human prions, the same prions that could lead to Creutzfeldt-Jakob syndrome.
And you were just worried about fish tasting like chicken...

The United States has a large naval base on Diego Garcia, an island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. In fact it's almost directly south of Sri Lanka (one of the most devastated areas). Interestingly, no one on Diego Garcia was affected by the 9.0 earthquake that killed 155,000 people. Now why could that be?
The U.S. military has come out with the explanation that Diego Garcia is "protected by the ocean topography"...sounds like bullshit to me. Diego Garcia and Sri Lanka are both surronded by deep ocean trenches so there's nothing different about the "ocean topography". Is it also a coincidence that no one died on Diego Garcia when there are almost no survivors on Sri Lanka's west coast?
Sorry folks...we're onto something here. The U.S. government is hiding something from us. It's just a coincidence or as U.S. officials call it "ocean topography" that prevented an important U.S. naval base in the Indian Ocean from being destroyed.

Your conspiracy theory sounds good, I have entertained the thought myself, but I also thought about one big hole that squashed it. It is my understanding that space agencies around the world currently have satellites in orbit with the ability to detect gamma radiation bursts from anywhere on the planet, even from deep space. If a nuclear weapon were detonated, the resulting gamma burst would have been detected, and I am confident that that would raise some flags, and there would be a lot of questions.

So far the explanation for the lack of radiation doesn't do much for me. First of all we don't dump radiactive waste into ocean tranches. Nerve gas yes, but radioactive waste no. Like the anonymous poster said, every country that has a satelite in orbit can monitor as such. Second, seismic waves transmitted by earthquakes and nuclear or even conventional explosives differ greatly. Do you think China would just sit back and relax if the U.S. were to detonate a nuclear device?
As far as Diego Garcia goes this following explanation should serve the purpose.

Well, the parallels are that they are both guerilla warfare conflicts. Though geography and politics differ, they are pretty much the same.
My personal opinion is that Iraq is a lose lose situation. We are dealing with two different groups of muslims and that is the Shiites and the Sunni's the only people they hate more than they hate each other is us. The only reason that Saddam was able to keep both groups in line was that "Human Rights" were not part of his vocabulary.
Further, too many media people involved, and the soldiers cannot do a good job, without being blamed for this or that.

Sorry for not registering a username. However my search for conspiracy theories (which I firmly believe in) lead me to this site. First of all I would like to start by saying that the Iraq war is an animal on its own. I'm not American, I'm Canadian but i feel for the families of the soldiers that die there everyday. It's just insane and pointless. My thought on that war has always been that it's a lose/lose situation. I agreed with going in, but they should have come out just as quick. When Saddam was captured, they should have immediately pulled 50% of the troops out of the country. Let the people of Iraq rebuild their country. On the Tsunami conspiracy theory, I'm not a geological expert but any type of weapon or detonated device that can literally wipe any standing structure in its path is definitely capable of creating seismic activity. It's been proven that nuclear weapons detonated either underwater or underground create seismic activity in the order of 5 on the Richter scale. It's like anything else. With calculated and strategic placement I believe it can be done. Just like a few hundred pounds of dynamite can take down a building. Just like one jet full of fuel can take down the undestructible Twin Towers. Don't kid yourself people. Engineering has marveled us in construction but don't doubt its capability in destruction. We fly a space shuttle in and out of space yearly, which only 50 years ago was unimaginable. If you can imagine it, chances are it can be done. These were the thoughts of the communication and transportation pioneers. When I first heard of the Tsunami my first thought was US involvement, without a doubt. And I firmly believe it. I'm not some idiot, freak or stupid ass as others have been described in these messages. I'm a Chemical Engineer with a wife and kids like anybody else. However, I'm very open minded and understand that anything is possible. As far as motive goes to this US conspiracy, does it really need one? Hell it could be to "teach those muslims a lesson" as a pathological Texan like Bush would put it. Why the hesitation to offer aid? Too busy creating the cover up story should the need arise. On another note, it could have been a nuclear test gone wrong. Admit their fault? Never! Not this administration. Hasn't done it yet and I don't plan on hearing anything in the near future. Well from doing a little research myself and trying to be skeptical at the same time, a conspiracy theroy does sound just a little logical. This HAARP machine is very dangerous if used incorrectly. It may be a chip off of the old Nikola Tesla invention which was able to cause sesmic activity by altering terrestrial stationary waves. There was reports of Tesla even being able to alter the weather. If HAARP is really capable of doing these things then maybe this theroy could have some relevance. The only part to the host's theroy is a nuclear explosion. If a sinister evil super power after maybe let's say oil and money and camoflauge could of been able to alter the terrestrial stationary waves with electromagnetic power, then the detenation of a nuclear bomb would not of even been neccesary (I'm not pointing any elbows at anyone though). Long ago, Tesla was able to create man made earth quakes with this technology. At first he just didn't know how to control them. Maybe with a little redesigning of his invention (HAARP) this is possible. And about those fish, I seen a picture on a website of a beach full of dead fish in asia from the tsunami. It looked to be a massive number of dead fish, not just like two or three. I think it was posted on ogrish.com, or a gallery of a major news station like CNN.com. Another strange thing about this tsunami that brought about some thought is that HAARP has some ties to submarine technology and HAARP is also controlled by the Navy which deals with submarines. In the news on 1/8/05 CNN posted a story about an american submarine in the Pacific ocean. Because of some problems with hitting the bottom of the ocean, the submarine reported to Guam for repair. This is kinda strange considering the tsunami happened not to far from this area about a week ago. I mean a submarine can travel pretty fast or pretty slow. Who knows the secret missions that submarines are involved in, and hey we don't know what direction they were coming from. They may have been coming from California. Who knows!!! But like I said before, conspiracy theroies are dangerous and skeptibililty is always good because, if we get to consumed by them we tend to get paranoid like we just smoked a bad bag of billy clint.

I think the theory could be based on the truth. The dutch newspaper "The Telegraph" reported that at the time of the tsunami, all American naval stations and naval units in the area were abandoned and/or evacuated before the Tidal Wave had occured. Bush would be in a position to organise such a thing. However, any conspiracy theorist could made the entire story up.
Why would the president of the United States take the peoples minds off the killing, by killing even more? He would thereby put his position on the line.

Bush needed an excuse to go to war for oil. This excuse was Terrorism. After 9/11 the media immediately put fear into the mind of every American citizen. They blaimed Al Quaida, Saddam Hussein, and islamic fundamentalists. They now had a reason to steal oil from Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuweit. But they had to do it legit. That's why in the 90's, the Bush family became great friends with the very rich oil-owning Bin Laden family. They blaimed Osama Bin Laden, for 9/11 for having Al Quaida thies. 10 days after the afghan invasion there was a US pipeline guiding millions of litres of oil from the oil-rich Afghanistan to an all-American Oil refinery near the Caspic Sea.
Iraq was next. The first US troops in Iraq were not securing the area for a terrorist threat, no. They were making sure The Oil would not be set on fire by surrendering Iraqi. Since the Iraqi invasions there have been set up over twenty US oil distribution plants. Compared to the amount of schools and hospitals, ( zero ) that's a lot.
With the tsunami killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people, The media's mind would definitely not be set on Iraq anymore. And allso the peoples minds were focussed on something totally different. When was the last time you heard news about iraq on Television? I dont even remember...
I sincerely think Bush is sick enough, and that most Americans are too ignorant to see his evilness. Because what I all just stated isn't just fiction of the mind, It is what we see on television, read in articles and books, and in the news in Europe.

I believe they are behind it. I have done reading on HAARP and believe that this is the cause of the Tsunami. Bush is a hypocrit and liar, as is his whole family. He is a skull and bones mason, fulfilling their centuries old agenda: one world government controlling everything - to get their, one of their mottos is "ab ordo chaos" - order out of chaos and this is what he is doing. The goal is to bring America to its knees scare the crap out of the public so we will have a microchip control all of our moves. Eventually create martial law. What disturbs me the most are the innocent creatures - sea creatures being driven out of the ocean by what these evil people are doing...one little known situation in America because the media have played it down is the Yellowstone threat. Yellowstone is a super volcano and has been showing signs of eruption - raised lake bed 800 feet, hot areas in park where park is closed off. If this supervolcano blows, it will wipe out everything within a 600 mile radius, and cause worldwide famine because it will temporarily blacken the sky. Bush does whatever he wants because he has surrounded himself with armed guards everywhere, and changed the Patriot Act so citizens have no rights other than smiling and nodding yes, okay. I believe that the Yellowstone event will be used for the final blow to Americans. We will be forced to take a microchip by Bush or Schwartzeneggar (when he runs for president and wins in 2008)...he is also involved in the NWO. While your idea certainly has sense, and possibility, I think Bush wouldn't resort to creating nuclear blasts underwater to create seismic disruption. He and his cronies would opt for something a little less...well, overkill. Now as much as I hate Bush and all he stands for, I know he hasn't got the mindset to commit such a deliberately devastating atrocity. My grandmother went to church with the Bush family and even babysat for them, and she tells me the same thing all the time; he's zealous and passionate, but he's also neither "evil" nor possessing decent intelligence in his brain.
He's most certainly going to be dumbing down the failures of his administration, as well as shifting focus; he did it with chasing down Osama Bin Laden for godsake! Whatever happned to that!?
As for creating earthquakes; it's possible. If you abused a "seismic vibrator", a machine used in geology and archaeology, placing it on a major faultline, it could very well create an earthqyake.

I can't see the Bush administration being clever enough to want to take people's minds off of Iraq. Considering their approach to this issue, the administration is adopting an attitude of indifference to the whole thing. I do, however, think it's possible that North Korea detonated a nuclear device to demonstrate to the intelligence community that it does have the capability. Such a move would draw the attention of the informed (the CIA), but not even remotely arouse the suspicions of the uninformed (the mass media).

Just curious, is there any more evidence pointing to the use of the HAARP or other devices causing seismic events? It just doesnt seem like there is a whole heck of a lot. There IS a lot of evidence surrounding the events of 911 that prove that the official story was not correct. I think our time would be better spent pursuing that 100%. The theory you presented is plausible, but until there is more evidence, people will call you a "nut" (not my sentiment).Hell, there's a ton of evidence that we were lied to on 911 and people still call us nuts. I we need to concentrate on our best case against the government (911), and save this case for the future. I think we may be spreading ourselves a little thin here.
